Morgan Smith
Morgan Smith, a graduate from Columbia College and Mannes College of Music in New York City's Columbia University, was a Seattle Opera Young Artist (1999-2000). In 2001, he made his debut in Billy Budd portraying Donald. Smith, one of the Seattle popular, has appeared in over 12 productions including Don Giovanni in the title part, Silvio and I Pagliacci in I Pagliacci as well Riccardo from I Puritani. He also played Peter Niles, in Mourning Is Now Alive. Smith is a regular performer is making the Dallas Symphony debut in Bach's St. Matthew Passion. He also performed as the North American premier of Detlef Glanert's orchestral version of Brahmsloved cycle Vier Praludien and Ernste Gesange as part of the San Antonio Symphony. Other concert repertoire includes Beethoven's Ninth Symphony; the Requiems composed by Brahms, Faure, Mozart and Durufle; Mass with the Mass in C Minor of Mozart as well as the Mass in G Minor composed by Vaughan Williams; Bach's B Minor Mass Numerous Cantatas, and Weihnachts Oratorium; Handel's Messiah as well as L'Allegro in the form of Penseroso and the Moderato as well as Haydn's The Creation and Lord Nelson Mass.
